An evening routine can become another task list to fail at if it has too many rules. A more useful starting point is a short sequence you understand: prepare a comfortable space, put tomorrow’s question on paper, or choose something quiet to read.
Our planner offers editable prompts and room for your own step. It is an organizational worksheet, not a prescribed insomnia treatment. You decide the order and the discussion-free minutes you want to reserve, and you can change the plan when life changes.
Pick steps that have a purpose
CDC describes consistent bed and waking times, a cool and quiet bedroom, and reducing evening disruptions among general sleep habits. NIA also describes relaxing routines. Those resources provide context for thinking about an evening, but they do not turn our prompt cards into a personal treatment plan.
Choose up to five steps. A card called “Set out tomorrow’s note” may simply mean placing a blank page near your bag. Give it an explanation that fits you. If you add your own step, write an ordinary activity rather than a medicine instruction or a rule copied from a clinical program.

The time total is a planning total
Each step can have a whole-number planning time between one and sixty minutes. The display adds the values you entered. It does not calculate your sleep need, predict when you will fall asleep, or count down a required relaxation exercise.
You can move a step earlier or later and mark it complete. Completion is a check on your own list. It is not a streak, health score, or evidence that a product worked. An unfinished plan is still useful if it shows what was unrealistic about that evening.

NHLBI describes cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia, or CBT-I, as a structured treatment commonly recommended first for long-term insomnia. That treatment may involve techniques supervised by a qualified professional. A public planner does not supply that assessment or program.
We do not generate sleep-restriction schedules, prescribe a bed time, or tell you to alter medicines. If you already have a treatment plan, follow your clinician’s instructions. Use the worksheet only for organizational details that fit alongside it.

Keep the plan easy to return to
Save on this device stores one evening plan locally. Load brings back that saved version, including order, your notes, minutes, and completion marks. Download and print include the complete plan, so you can use it away from the screen.
If audio is one of your chosen steps, the Headspace and Calm reviews explain different published listening formats. You do not need a paid app to make a routine. Check the actual service and its renewal terms before buying one, and keep ongoing sleep concerns with a qualified care team.
